Maureen McCormick was born to Irene nee Beckman and teacher William McCormick. Maureen has three elder brothers named Michael, Dennis and Kevin. She had her education at Charles Evans Hughes Junior High and Taft High School. Maureen as a baby won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley beauty pageant in her childhood that led her to set sights on acting career.

Beginning her acting career with a stage play at the age of seven, Maureen went on to appear in several commercials including Barbie doll, Kool Aid, and Chatty Cathy doll in 1964. She made her debut on television in the same year with a two-episodic guest role in "Bewitched" {2 episodes: 1964-1965}.
